Es indudable. Es un alimento peque\u00f1o, pero con gran trayectoria en la gastronom\u00eda del Mediterr\u00e1neo. Su recorrido en la mesa de la cuenca mediterr\u00e1nea es milenario. Son muchas las costumbres que se re\u00fanen en torno a estas diminutas delicias. El consumo de las\u00a0Aceitunas de mesas es variado tanto en preparaci\u00f3n como en toma, pero el acierto siempre es seguro.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Olivos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The\u00a0<strong>olive tree<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0originated in the Tertiary Era, as far back as Mycenaean Greece (18th to 12th centuries BC). There are records of the existence of this tree. Its cultivation spread throughout Europe, Africa and Asia Minor. It was in the 16th century when they arrived in America with the Spanish colonisers. As for its etymological map, there are various hypotheses on the subject. The term\u00a0<em>Olive tree\u00a0<\/em>comes from the Cretan word\u00a0<em>Elaiwa<\/em>\u00a0and Greek\u00a0<em>Elaia.\u00a0<\/em>From which, later resulted the term\u00a0<em>Oleum<\/em>deriving from it\u00a0<em>Oli<\/em>The term Hebrew, belonging to the Romance languages. Likewise, the Hebrew term\u00a0<em>Zait<\/em>\u00a0transmuted in Arabic to\u00a0<em>Zaitum.\u00a0<\/em>It arrives in Spanish as\u00a0<em>Az-zait<\/em>whose meaning is \"<strong>olive juice<\/strong>\". Eventually, it leads to what we know today as\u00a0<strong>Oil.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At first, table olives were only valid for their oil. They were not intended for consumption as such. However, there is evidence that they were consumed around the 1st century. The well-known writings of the famous C\u00e1diz writer Columela include various techniques for the preparation of table olives, ranging from dressing with\u00a0<strong>fennel<\/strong>\u00a0even preparations with mastic leaves.
